The nurse practitioner upped my verap. from 240 to 480!! HOPE! He was thinking of another drug when he said I shouldn't go over 240....I brought it up saying I was reading about a LOT of people on this site who were on up to 960 mgs.! And then he pulled out his drug book and said "you're right - we can increase you to 480, but I wouldn't want to go any higher because your pulse could go too low..." I really do hope it works because if not, next step are the triptans and neuro referral. I have to have a CT scan and he's checking my sed rate for temporal arteritis also (which would necessitate 6 months of prednisone). He said I was using waaaay to much O2 *almost two tanks since Monday) and that this can cause damage to lungs at this level - so be careful all you O2'ers...
After getting up at 2:30 this morning with THE BEAST, I am exhausted and going to try getting some sleep now. I just hope I don't wake up with another one....later....
