100% oxygen usage has been well studied for both aviation and space travel, not going to quote all the sites on this subject, but here is one:

Pre-breathing 100% for two hours was quite common before a U-2 flight plus extended breathing of O2 for B-52 36 hour long flights during the cold war period. Air Force did ground studies of breathing 100% oxygen for 24 hour periods.
Similar to living in a gravity free environment, your body would get lazy with constant 100% oxygen use. Pays to be in good physical condition to keep your oxygen carrying blood flowing while breathing normal air. Being in top physical condition also reduces both the intensity and frequency of CH's.
