I just wrap the needle in a cottn ball soaked in alcohol and leave is laying on the bathroom counter.
Note that the needle only needs to go 1/4 of an inch. That's all the farther the injector puts it and also what the info sheet with the imitrex says. So don't push the needl in all the way.
