hey all...it's been a long time since i've posted, but with college and these headaches life can get pretty busy.
anyways, since i was diagnosed with cluster headaches in late may, i have had two other seperate diagnoses. one being stress related migrains, and the other just hereditary migrains (i told the neurologist that my dad's were different from mine, but he didn't want to listen to me). i've tried amatryptaline, vicadene, codiene, maxalt, depakote, imatrex (nasal spray), and even marajuana (yeah i know it's illegal). the only things that seam to be working are imatrex and marajuana. my new neurologist doesn't like me useing imatrex because of the heart problems down the line. i have all the symptoms of cluster headaches, yet my neurologist seems to disagree (probably cuz i'm a girl).
i get the one sided pain (my switch sometimes), runny nose and puffy eye on the same side of pain, they happen at the same time of day (around 3-4 times a day) each lasting anywhere from 30 min to a few hours. i haven't had a pain free day (with the exception of when i get high the night before) for over a month. i don't like being left alone, because the pain gets so bad sometimes i fear i might hurt myself.
my next neurologist appointment is the 26th, any one have any ideas on what drug i should request? i'd prefer not to use lithium, but anything else i'm willing to try.
