I am episodic, every 9-24 months, and have never taken a preventive that worked , but I never tryed to take one between episodes to see if it prevents another episode. It seems like I see many posts about peeps taking large amounts of verep,or lithium ,but they are still getting hit ,maybe not as hard but still visted enough by the bitch to make me wonder if it's worth it.Doc's have offered me both , but I , know my episode will end in 4-5 months, so I just try to fight each battle with abortives. The cheapest way I have found is O2(thanks to this MB)with a cafrigot or 2 right at the start of a HA.Maybe I have given up after 30 odd years ,but it seems like ,when I am in cycle I am going to get 3-4 HA's a day and there is not a damn thing I can do to prevent it , but fight each one on its own.But if I were a chronic (knock on wood) I would have a different attitude or approuch to things. The big thing is, after all these years I keep thinking after each cycle , that it may be my last,,and ,,when I am in cycle ,after each HA , I think it may be my last.Crazy huh, 3-4 HA's a day, but dumb ass that I am ,I think after each one it may be over for good. A chronic doesn't have that luxury, that light at the end of the tunnel.
