A question for the chronics out there who can recal switching from episodic.

My fear is of going chronic. Currently episodic with two danger periods Jan/Feb and Aug/Sep. Of these, usually the early year time is the most troublesome. Several years now, the later period has been PF.

This year things seem to have changed. The beast arrived with a vengeance late Aug. Did its usual 8 weeks and appeared to quit. 1 week later, its back. Still there. This is the longest I've ever had a bout last. Lost count of how many Imitrex jabs I've used up (despite maximising them with the trick). Still no sign of a let up. If it doesn't quit soon, I'll run into the next danger zone (last year they started just before Christmas - a bit early). Then what happens??

I am aware that there was a discussion of the definition of chronic a while back, but what I'm terrified of is that I'm going chronic. I don't know if I could hack that!!! At least as an episodic I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and I'll be able to go back to a 'normal' life for a while.

Thoughts anyone?

Chris B (UK)
