From my first episode at the age of 20 until my late 30s I used no meds at all.

I am proud of my ability to endure all those attacks. I am proud of the fact that I was able to manage my life in spite of these things. I am also proud of the fact that I never screamed, cried or would even consider going to an emergency room.

I am older now and I love the fact that verapamil works so well for me. I wish I had it then but I didn't.

I am proud of my stoicism. I like stoicism.
