If you can, try to email the neuro AND his nurse or secretary. Sometimes, medical receptionists are trained to screen for their doctors and don't realize the urgency of clusters. Your neuro may not even realize that you are trying to get in for an appointment.
What worked for us was I emailed our neuro, his secretary AND his nurse, told them what my husband has been going through and reminded them that these are often referred to as 'suicide headaches'. I didn't actually come right out and say anyone actually WAS feeling suicidal. We got a call back with an appointment within the hour, and my hubby had his meds REAL fast.
