Yes, he tried preventatives and abortives. He tried all of them.

In order that I can establish that he legitimately tried to remedy his condition prior to wanting to control the pain via narcotics I am going to do some homework over the next few weeks and compile a list of the treatment regimes he attempted. I know for a fact that during the first three years of suffering (from ages 9-11) that he was not given any narcotics at all for pain.

One thing that he did find helpful was smoking marihuana (a non-narcotic), of course he had to procure it through illegal means; but, I see no reason why that should have been considered inappropriate either. For a history of why marihuana is illegal in the USA I invite you to read “The History of the Non-Medical Use of Drugs in the United States” by Charles Whitebread, Professor of Law, USC Law School at http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm After you have read the article you will be able to have a rational discussion with me instead of one based on ignorance.

After I return with an timeline of the treatment my brother attempted and have posted it then perhaps then you all will believe I’m not misinformed or ignorant of this condition.

Respectfully,
Christian
