Greetings all. It has been quite some time since I have visited this post. Mostly because I have been pain free since last June (2001).
But then came January. It has been a month of nothing less than pure hell. The Depakote was not working like it used to, and the Imitrex supply was quickly vanishing.
I went to the Doc to get a refill on the Imitrex, and he took me off of the Depakote, and put me on Prednisone. At first, I was very aprehensive about taking Prednisone. But we all know that when the pain is bad enough, you'll do just about ANYTHING to make it quit.
So I started on the Prednisone. The first day showed no results. I still had 7 headaches that day. The second day, I only had 2. I am now on day three, and I cannot believe it!!! I actually got a full night's sleep last night! AND, I have only had 1 headache so far today. Pretty darn good considering I normally wake between 1:00 and 3:00 AM and start my day with my LEAST favorite friend.
I don't know if the Prednisone will work for everyone, but if you have not yet tried it, you should. It has helped me.
