Thanks for the idea. On the first whack, it turned white and stayed that way for a few seconds, same with the second. On the third, it seems to stay white. I suspect everyone here is right. For now I'll enjoy it while I can. By the way, people, my crumby Compaq monitor is 18 months old. Granted, I use it every day for many hours but it's not on all the time. Thanks folks. I don't know what I'd do without this board. It's a hell of a family.
