for me a usual aura begins as a point in the middle of my field of vision and then starts to grow. In the beginning it takes a bite out of my vision, then finally expands so much I can look through it. I see it with both eyes and even with my eyes shut.Also, aura's are jagged and pointy, and look like those swarowski crystal figurines (or like ancient fortifications from the air). Not like bits of grey cotton wool.So all in all this does not sound much like a migraine aura to me...Annemarie
