My hubby started going to a VA specialist in Delaware and he ordered the O2 for him he has a H tank and 6 e tanks and also one that plugs in and makes its own O2 but that one only goes to 10 so if he needs more he puts on the H tank and we pays nothing. He is 10% disable from Navy and we never used thier doctors till his boss let him go b/c of the headaches and no job no insurance so I guess it all worked out we found a better doctor for him.

www.apria.com Insurance needed approval from my neuro and now I get them delivered and have never seen a bill. Apria in my area, northern NJ, is great. Call and order and they deliver it within 1-2 days.

It's RX'd by my GP and then Walgreens bills my insurance and we pay the out of pocket 20% that Humana does not cover. We never pay any money up front. Oh, and I usually request 3 tanks and a regulator (I have the mask). They do offer home delivery as an option, but I find that I am uncomfortable waiting on someone else to bring me my O2, so I usually drop off and pick-up myself.

| You CAN get a regulator cheaper by buying it. At $17.00 per month rental, that's $84.00 per year. What size tanks do you use? I picked up a couple off ebay a couple years ago, to fit an M or H tank. They are both being used, but I paid $25.00 each for them. Let me know what size tanks you have, I'll do a little research for you. We have O2 delivered by a local home health care company, don't know the name, but it's not Apria. We have two O2 generators, when used together, they put out about 18 LPM. We also have an M tank, and keep 4 full E tanks at all times for traveling. Courtesy of the VA. They even supplied a high flow rate regulator, and repaired one of our own regs, at no charge. They come by every other Monday, unless we are running low and call them. They regularly give us non-rebreather masks, and the mask part is softer plastic, it conforms to your face easier, and is gentler on the edges.

| It's even worse than that. It's $204 per year.

| My only point was that it's less of bargain than originally thought - not to criticize your math skills, Chris. That would be like the pot calling the kettle black. And I do it for a living!

| I know, Bill, no worries. It's true, I had no math skills at work today, and it took me 15 minutes to convert the price on a 20' long piece of steel tubing into the price per inch. Than I had to ask someone to check it for me. Just one of those days LOL. And I do it for a living too!! CRKris, lot's of positions open for calling the kettle black, however, there's no money in it, unless you are a politician.

This might sound crazy but I go to the local hardware store and rent a big tank for 45.00 per year and swap it when it runs low. We use to have a home oxygen business and they say it's not and diffrence in between medical oxygen and regular oxygen. In fact I have taken the tanks to be filled and they come out of the same big tank.. So for anyone who does not have insurance there is a cheap out.. You can talk to a medical supply company about buying a regulator or ask at the local hospital if they have any old ones laying around.. I took 2 broke one and made 1 good one... Where theres a will theres a way...
