Iam new to this nightmare. the headaches started six weeks ago. I've used prednisone, covera, imitrex and oxygen. I had been having two to three headaches per night.  Three days ago the killer headaches stopped.  Now I've been having small headaches during the day. 4 to 6 per day some more painfull than others.
Some feel like 2min clusters. I have not seen my doctor yet. Does anybody out there know what's going on.  Please help!!

6 weeks and you haven't seen a doctor?  Get thee hence!

I think some poeple call those shadows.  They can suck too.  Talk to your doctor about it.

Be sure to take the cluster test (on your left) and go in armed with knowledge.  Read read read here.  There is a lot of good info if you use the search function.

Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania (CPH)? YOu might want to look into that and see if you might be suffering from it.

Hi Hadit and welcome!

How did you get the meds if you havent been to the Dr?
Just wondering about that.
Yes it does sound like shadows to me, maybe your cycle is ending.
Good luck to you,

I maybe wrong but I dont think you will find medical info on shadows. I believe that was a name made up on this board. I describe shadows as those annoying headaches that seem to buzz around during the day but are not very painful and mine can be controlled by taking advils. I get alot of them during cycle time mostly during the day and I save the nights for the real good CH attacks.
Well thats my shadows anyways, not really sure if all would agree on that.

Click on the links to the left.

Also, covera, commonly known as verapamil takes about 14 days to get into your system ata theraputic level. The covera is a preventative, unlike imitrex which is an abortive.  You dont say what dosage of covera you are taking but the 2 week wait could explain the decrease in pain. In other words, it's working

Damn, this is getting down right weird.....
I’m going to publicly agree with Ted  Grin (And this is the second time in 2-1/2 years!)

Look into CPH - if so, you may be lucky enough to have a drug (Indocin) that is 95%+ effective.

Welcome Hadit,
I tend to agree with Suzy....or maybe I'm just trying to think positive for you but I think your cycle is ending....assuming you have CH. Hopefully those shadows will get farther apart. Wishing PFD for you.

Ah CPH this is where I step in.

Hi Hadit,

I'm April and I suffer from CPH which is a lot like clusters but doesn't respond to CH meds. But usually responds to Indocid or Indomethacin.  Below is a really good link about CPH and CH...the differences of.

It's a little longwinded but it has a lot of useful information.

If you have any question feel free to email me at Juvember@hotmail.com

Wishing you PFDAN,
