Overdoing Triptans

Whats the effects of overdoing Tritans. I've been getting high level constant shadows and a real kicking during episodes. Triptans work but I've been overdoing them in desperation. Now I feel weird. I use 20mg nasal spray sumatriptan and using it 3 to 4 times in 24 hrs over the last 2 days. I usually have a general feeling of weirdness when I am in a cycle, this is worse. Last night I had some strange chest sensations, tightening, wriggling feeling.

Thanks

This would be my *non-professional* thoughts on this.   Try getting the injections rather than the nasal sprays.  You can break the shots down from 6mg to 2 or 3 mg and take up to 6 doses then safely a day.  I learned well how to take the auto injector and discharge it into a vial and break them down with a syringe.  If you can get the vials to start with you are a step ahead of the game.

Good Luck and ask any more questions you may need.

Religion and sex are powerplays. Manipulate the people for the money they pay. Selling skin, selling God, the numbers look the same on their credit cards. Triptans cause rebounds. Learn it, believe it, live it. I use triptans as the absolute LAST RESORT when treating my CH.

I've used as much as anyone. I was recently diagnosed as "Chronic Cluster Headache / Triptan Rebound". You may be feeding the fire.

I have picked up O2 today. I am trying to stay off the Triptan. Its meant high level constant pain all day but not the complete hit. This is grinding me down in to small bits of abrasive sand, only trouble is I cant shine anything up! confused2

I will DEFINITELY NOT DO THAT AGAIN.

Been off triptans for 24 hours, thought yesterday would never end. Constant pain like on the verge of a hit. General feeling unwell.

Today a tad better, not pacing, I am hopeful.
