Realizing that this is disturbingly on-topic for this thread...I still have to say, I don't know what I would do without my Maxalt as an abortive. I may not use it often, but I have the blister packs wherever I go, since it's the only thing that ever seems to work.
So as far as Triptans, here is yet another chronic Clusterhead (although new to the board) that would far prefer the risk of lesions or damage than not having relief. My doctor told me the risks and I understood them, so it is not as if I was unaware.
Far better to know the risks than take the advice of some insane quack spamming the boards and wanting to do strange, molestation-like things to my cranium.

This as you've realised is a highly emotive thread. One thing we do not take kindly too here is quacks and trolls. People come here initially looking for answers, often in pain and desperation, often with no meds and no answers.
I for one won't let scum like that prey on any clusterhead while I can prevent it!
We aren't against "alternative" treatments by any means.. we just don't subscribe to outright quackery and we don't like it when someone comes along and with their first (and usually only) post tries to sell something.
Stick around, read up and I'm sure you wll learn stuff thats of benefit to you.
Are you episodic or Chronic? Do you use and preventatives or just the maxalt? Ever tried Oxygen?
Realised how nosey we all are yet?!

Maxalt used to work wonders for me, until I over did it and if I took one now to abort an attack, it would double the pain within seconds.... So, I'm glad to hear that you're going easy on it.
