RIP Woodie

We had to let Woodie make his way to the Rainbow Bridge today. We will miss him terribly, but what a blessing to have had him in our lives.

He'll be waiting for us.

Thank you all for your sentiments.

I'll post a few more details later on about what led us to this point. It's just a little raw right now.

You guys are the best.

Well, Linda, since I don't have to write this myself, I will pilfer Pat's tribute from her Corgi list:

It is with desperate sadness that I announce that my beloved Woodie was helped to the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon.  He was 10 1/2.

He kept declining after the nights spent at the emergency vets several weeks ago.  Nothing seemed to stop the weakness in his legs, and then the neurological symptoms began, tics, head bobbing, eyes not blinking, falling, walking into houses and trees, walking in circles . . . . .  We made the decision this morning to let him go and were all with him this afternoon giving him goodbye loves and kisses.

He then had one long seizure which hastened our trip to the vet.  He passed peacefully in our arms and is no longer scared or in pain.

I will miss my buddy like no other.  He was a stoic, well-mannered gentleman of a corgi who came into our lives by accident and enriched us beyond measure.

Rest in Peace Pup.

Can this woman write, or what? She has taught me more than she'll ever know about caring and compassion.

Oh Brew...my heart aches for you all.  Our beloved pets become so much a part of us...we love them so.  I'm not sure Blake and I will ever get over the loss of our dear Rocky.

Woodie was a special pooch...a world traveler he was too.

Wish we could give you all a comforting hug.  Please know how sorry we are and that we're think of you.

Much love to you all....
Jackie

Modified to add:  Just read Pat's tribute......how beautiful and touching...

So sorry to learn of the loss of your family pet.  They worm their way into our hearts and stay there.  The pain will give way to joyful memories of times spent together.

My sympathies,

Pets are people too. We love them like they are children. A lost of a pet is
very hard. You have a good way of looking at it.

They are so special, but like you said Woodie is no longer in pain. All animals go to heaven ! Your right Woodie will be right there at the gate to  lick your hand.

So sorry !
