Try Homeopathy
Jul 9th, 2008 at 8:48am

Hi there,

I tried Homeopathy (alternative medicine). The doc. gave a couple of doses of Natrum Mur. and I think I am through with what I have been suffering for the last 20 years.

You just need a good doc. and then you too could join me. All the best.

A "good Homeopath" is an oxymoron.

How the hell can a homeopathic placebo "cure" a defective hypothalamus, that is the root of CH?

"Natrum Mur" or Natrum Muriaticum" appears to be the lingo for table salt.  Sodium Chloride.

Awfully, awfully smug.

Why don't you write a book and make millions? If you have the cure, I'll buy it, thousands more will too, and you can ride off into the sunset.

Ok, I am strapped for cash, so I am trying to do my own homeopathy. I think I have the recipe:

1) dissolve 1 grain of salt in one gallon of pure water to make solution A.
2) dissolve 1 drop of solution A in one gallon pure water to make solution B.
3) Take 12 drops solution B, 3 times a day, or as needed (but being careful not to overdo it!)

I would buy a commercial homeopathic remedy, but all my money is tied up in magic bean futures.

Grin  Good one monty.

Ram, if table salt works for you, then great. But, it is not a cure for CH, as you said on the other board. There is no cure. Thanks anyway.

Be a little more specific here table Salt, or Sea Salt. Would Salt and Vineger Chips with Sour Cream work?. Or do you have to take it straight. After all its just a condiment, most of the time.

Dear All,

I appreciate your views/comments/thoughts etc..etc... If one looks at the history of evolution of man, and how mankind has progressed, it would not be surprising to note that there has always been more dissent than acceptance to anything new. So I am not all perturbed or angry or annoyed or anything else for that matter. I only see history repeating itself and some has rightly said..."what we learn from history is that we don't learn from history"..Ironical..isn't it? I worked for me, works for me and will work me..and I told you about it..take it or leave it...like they say...common sense is not common.. Smiley

Ram - is my description of homeopathic dilution accurate or not??

If not, please explain what a homeopathic dilution of salt involves.

If my description is accurate, please explain how in Sam Hill that would help someone with cluster headaches, or what ever it is that you went through for 20 years ... I noticed that you really didn't say that you had cluster headaches, merely that you had something.

It seems to involve excercise 14 or so of the Cub Scout handbook for earning a Bear badge -- making crystals on a string, and then the dilution process although I'm unfamiliar with "succusses".

Quote:
The homeopathic remedy is created by dissolving sodium chloride in hot, boiling water. The mixture is then filtered and crystallized through evaporation. The resulting substance is then dissolved in water and succussed to create the final preparation.

Well, perhaps Ram has been stuck in this little phase of life for 20 years.  According to homeopathic uses...

Quote:
Natrum muriaticum is the homeopathic remedy commonly known as table salt or sodium chloride.

General Use

This remedy is frequently indicated in... awkward, pubescent girls who suffer from headaches and menstrual irregularities.  Nat. mur. children are frequently serious. They dislike excessive physical contact and hate to be teased. These children often have frightening dreams about being robbed.

Here's some features of the headache.

Quote:
The headaches typical of Nat. mur. are centered in the forehead and temples, although they may occur at the back of the head.  The eyes are sore and watery. The headache is worse from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M., after eating, light, noise, motion, mental strain, lying down, and during menstruation. It is often relieved by sweating.

Hey, I earned my Bear badge, can still make salt crystals on a string, and still remember how to sweat.

Appears that the dilution can result in not a single molecule of the diluted substance remaining in the "treatment."

Somehow, the water is supposed to retain the "memory" of the substance, even if there's nothing there.  And this "memory" is somehow supposed to be curative.

Well...whatever.  Common sense, indeed.   Roll Eyes

It's not just the salt.
You also have to get some dihydrogen monoxide.

The sodium chloride dihydrogen monoxide solution is amazing.

Homeopathy is bullshit. Only very, very diluted. It's completely safe to drink.

Hi Ram,
I am not going to tell you all that my fellow CH’ers mentioned,
I will try and stay serious, and professional and honest….. and
try to avoid any use of  “different” language.

I am a “new” CCH’er just over 2 years and 7 month, which
doesn’t qualify me as an expert, but it dose qualify me as a
knowledgeable sufferer, I would dear and say (humbly) very
knowledgeable sufferer….

In the “short” time I am in “harms way” with CH I have looked
searched, researched about CH from alternative treatments to strict
school medicine…….

Since I am part of this global “Village” -  just over 2 years and
6 month, I have seen persons come and go, with the questionable
statement – THEY HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT, they have the
answer we were all looking for……..

To dear and have such a claim – which is, by it self outrageous you
would need to support it with some sort of more detailed information,
rather than just “hanging” a parole……
It is simply untrustworthy…. ridicules…..  and most of all insulting!

We are intelligent persons, on this virtual Village, with a vast amount
of accumulated know how, statements such as your statement are a direct
insult to our intelligence, and to our persona, and that is sad!

I would ask you to reconsider your post, I will listen, but only if there
is subtends and proof to your statement…….
And no hidden agenda, I dispraise persons pretending, offering a possible
“relief” out of there “own experience”, and then they offer (coincidently)
a link to a website that offers that product

Then I will turn abusive and will join the chorus, just lauder and without
choosing the words!

Michael

So it's safely diluted bullshit, or is that deluded, with a price tag.  Like hiring the tailors of the emperor's new clothes.

Here's some fairy tale history remembered.

Quote:
"Besides being invisible, your Highness, this cloth will be woven in colors and patterns created especially for you." The emperor gave the two men a bag of gold coins in exchange for their promise to begin working on the fabric immediately.

"What a marvellous train!"

"And the colors! The colors of that beautiful fabric! I have never seen anything like it in my life!"
