Looking for a new O2 regulator...

At 15lpm and faced with a building CH attack I don't feel like I'm getting enough airflow during the first five minutes of treatment. I'm not getting the airflow from my m-tank regulator that I do from the e-tank regulator. I swear the thing is leaking. Both regulators are the giant Victor types and have see better days.

My company has changed Insurance carriers twice in the last year so this is the third set of regulators I've had and I really don't like them. The supplier doesn't offer any alternatives as these are the only high flow regulators they have.

So I spent some time checking out 25lpm regulators yesterday looking for the cheapest way to get a single regulator that will work for both my e-tanks and my m-tank.

The cga540-cga370 adapter Batch highlighted is still $75. I couldn't find a cheaper option for the TA-870-P.

I see two types of compact high flow regulators on the market. The difference being that some of the regulators have two "DISS" type outlets.

Question: Are these constant flow outlets for use with a demand valve? If so, that is probably the type I should go with as it gives me more options for the future.

I've been able to get 25lpm regs for $25 each, but they don't have the fitting for a demand valve. I may order a few of these.......seems I have friends that use them. B

Yes Dennis, the one with the DISS outlets work with a demand valve, it attaches to one of the ports.

Like Johnny (with an H) said, look on ebay, there are plenty on there and probably cheaper too....

Flowtech, +10-15-25-40-60 for M tank with barb fitting was special order (2-3 weeks) at a price of 136+15 for shipping. I’ll post a pick and forward the info if necessary.

It works great and they make them in any configuration you need:

Single port or three port with the fittings you pick and several LPM choices from a chart on there website.

They are local here in Minneapolis and make the things for small aircraft pilots.

I just hope the regulator doesn't turn out to be a cheap POS. But that's only $40.84 of the total. -Dennis-

Dennis, as others have said, go to eBay for your regulators. They are very reasonable there.

Yes, the DISS fitting is for a demand valve regulator (which I swear by)

And buy two regulators, instead of one, with an adapter. Get one for the E tank, and one for the M tank. It is cheaper than buying one, with the adapter. ALSO, then you don't have to worry about remembering to take the regulator off your M tank, so that you can have it with you in your car, for your E tank, and vice versa.

I used to have only one demand valve mask, and I was constantly forgetting to take it with me to work, or forget it in the car, when I came in for the night. Now I have two (Thank you Linde!) so I don't have to overtax this senile brain of mine.

But I get virtually all of my oxygen equipment off eBay. I even got my 20 foot (or is it a 25 foot?) hose for my demand valve mask off eBay! (I am a pacer when I am getting a hard hit)

Great advice Chuck! I'll pick up two then. This actually cuts the cost down too.

I only have one mask and make a habit of not leaving it hanging around. Immediately after I kill a hit it goes back in the 1gal ziplock back with the 5' e-tank hose and wrench. That goes into my backpack which I never go anywhere without.

So the longest demand valve hose is 25'? I'm a pacer too and I'm used to pacing with twice that length. The m-tank is in my bedroom and I pace down the hall and into the kitchen.

Do you have part #s and links for the demand valve hoses and masks?

All I have to say is WOW! What a difference another 10lpm makes!

Things are a bit stressful here this weekend and I've missed a dose or two of Verapamil in the last 24 hours. As a result I've had shadows playing hide and seek in my head all day.

Well they just began to take off into a real hit at 9:34. By 10:40, 5 minutes after I start on the O2 it was gone! I only had to stay on for 12 minutes. Caught it quick and dispatched it quicker than ever before. I could not be happier right now.
