Is it Hugh Laurie reprising his role as House and trying to diagnose all of us using the typical CH presentation??

Is it Tom Jones who will finally help us answer the question "Is the song "It's not unusual" a trigger???"

Is it Ali?

Unfortunately, Jim and I can't make it this year, but I hope St. Louis works out well.  Our middle grandson Cory well be going to Wash. U. next year, so if it is there again we will be there with bells on! Right now I am in cycle that probably has two or three more months to run. Much as I could use the moral support, I can't face the drive.

Hugs to everyone.

Becky, PLEASE reconsider!  Where you are right now is even MORE reason for you to show up!

Just because you are in cycle should NOT stop you from going!  I am chronic, so I am ALWAYS in cycle.  I will get hit, while I am there, but so what?  With this crowd, no one will think you strange ... or at least, not strange because you do a silly dance while holding your head and screaming ... LOL!

If you don't go, just because you are in cycle, you are letting the beast win.  You are stopping your life, instead of living it to the fullest!  Don't dwell on the pain of the hits, dwell on the pain free time BETWEEN hits!  Live your life to the fullest between hits.

If you get hit, while there, just go off (if that is what you prefer) and deal with the hit, abort it as best you can, and then go right back to the fun.  If you want someone to go with you, for comfort, support, to help, or teach you new ways, EVERYONE of us would be more than happy to do so!

By not going, you are canceling the opportunity to meet fellow sufferers that KNOW what you are going through!  They will also help you in dealing with the beast.  And most likely you will learn some new tricks to try, to help you deal with the beast better.

We just had a meet 'n greet, here in North Carolina, yesterday.  During the BS session, I got hit.  I went out to my car, and sucked on my oxygen, and then went back to join the festivities.  I wouldn't have missed meeting those crazy, sick, demented, wonderful people for anything!

PLEASE rething your decision not to go!

Chuck

We will be having our OUCH convention sometime in July, but the place has not been decided on yet. There are a lot of Texans on here and maybe you guys could get a meet and greet going down there.

But you are always welcome to come to St. Louis if it is all possible.

P.S. We will be inside all weekend. Wink

Well, in a finite answer to that, Ummmm ... maybe ... LOL!

This is a totally non-sanctioned, by any organization, type of gathering.  The quick history of it is back a few years ago, a group in the Davenport, Iowa area set up a meet-n-greet for those locals (and otherwise) interested.  It went over so well, that it was repeated the next few years, at the same time, and place.

Well, as with virtually all gatherings, it gets posted on this site.  As the years progressed, more and more of us "out of the area" types started to show up also.  It became something to look forward to, after a hectic holiday season: A gathering of friends, to just chat, and visit, and meet in person.  No other agenda, than that.

This year it was moved to St. Louis, due to the fact that there is now a smoking ban in Davenport.  Most of us are smokers, so that made it difficult, especially where it is too cold to just congregate outside, while we smoke.

St. Louis was picked, because it is not THAT far from Davenport, but it also allows smoking, inside.

SO, to finally answer your question: Who knows if there will be another opportunity to meet?

The next ORGANIZED and sanctioned gathering is usually in July, at the O.U.C.H. convention.  But, I don't know if there is going to be one this year, because, here it is almost January, and nothing has been set up yet.  The location and date used to be set by the end of the previous summer, but now ... Who knows if it will even get done this year.

You never know when someone will organize a local gathering.  It can happen almost spur of the moment.  YOU can even organize one!  Maybe just 2 or 3 people will show up, but that is fine too!

There will probably not be a gathering with as many participants, as this LouCon will have, unless, by some miracle, the O.U.C.H. convention does finally get organized.

So, does this long winded soliloquy help you at all?

Chuck
