I went to the first Davcon, and could only stay for about 2hours and had to turn around and drive 2 1/2 hours back home.  It was incredible!  I had my wife with me.  She is scarred for life! Shocked

I had to miss the next couple of them due to work, but I will do my best to not miss another opportunity to get together with clusterheads.  For one thing, I got hit with about a K7 the first time, and no one looked at me like I was weird or about to die.  I had a couple ask if I wanted Trex or O2 or ice, then just left me alone to deal with the hit.  I didn't even leave the room, but tried to stay quiet as i could.  I didn't want to miss out on a minute of the time I had with those crazy lovable people.

The opportunity to spend time with the people who helped save my life is well worth the trip.  I cried when I had to leave, and had an emptiness in my heart for weeks just from that short time I was able to be there.

Grab Joe and throw him in the car and tell him it is a second honeymoon or whatever you have to do to get him there.  If you don't like the first one you don't have to come back, but I'll bet you do!

Oh, alright ...

With SOME of us .....

Ok, FINE!!!  If you are going to be picky about it ... With one or two of us he will be comfortable ...

Monica, I'm dragging my wife with me on this one, it'll be her first big CH convention. You'll be amazed at what it's like to sit and talk with a bunch of people, and NEVER have to preface ANY of your conversations with what the hell a cluster headache is! You'll LOVE it. I promise.

HI,

I have never been to a gathering. In fact, I have never met someone else with cH.  I would like to go, but I am in a cluster now, and I don't know how to handle traveling with oxygen and airplanes ( I have never attempted it before) I would try with Imitrex alone, but I'm down to 5 shots, and no more until next month.  Does anyone have experience / do you know how to do it?

Thank You

SonnyJack,  you MUST come!

If you have never met others, here is one of the greatest chances to meet a whole bunch of blithering idiots really super people!

And don't worry about being in cycle.  I am chronic, so I am ALWAYS in cycle, and I never let that stop me!

As far as the abortives go, you will not be able to bring oxygen with you on the plane.  Just use the Imitrex, in case you need it on the plane.  Once you get there, we will have oxygen there for you to use.  And, it is possible that someone will find the Imitrex that you lost, so that you will have enough to last through the month.

If it is at all possible, PLEASE come!  You will gain SO much by going!  I can't stress it enough:
COME!!!

I look forward to meeting you!

Chuck

PS:  When you come, bring your own regulator and mask.  Oxygen tanks will be there for you to use.  It will be easier that way.

It sounds like Wednesday is the 'clothing optional' day.

Hmmm... just recalled that the 16th is my birthday.  Gotta figure out who throws a better party... hometowners or a bunch of drunk o2-suckers.   Smiley

I would be leery of any of those O2 suckers ...  Rumor has it that they are a pretty strange group of misfits ...

Approach with EXTREME caution!

I stopped by the hotel on the way home tonight and got a mini tour from one of the staff. She showed me one of the rooms and their decent. I think she said 80% have a microwave and fridge. There are several different size hospitality rooms we can use and of course the bar..
They have a shuttle which will take anywhere within 3 miles of the place. They don’t run to the Casinos, which are about 5 miles west, but she said they run their own shuttle.
If there's anything I can do for anyone in advance let me know.
See you soon

Thanks for checking on the rooms Jim. I was a little afraid that the rooms might not be very good at $59 a night, but it sounds like it will be ok.

So they will let us use a hospitality room?  Any charge? Can you smoke in there? I hope you warned her about what is about to converge on their property next week. Smiley

well it ain't the Hilton but the rooms were comparable to the place in Davenport

Yep, she's been warned.  Grin
There's a different girl who originally booked this and she's going to call me tomorrow so I'll get all the info about the hospitality rooms then. Unfortunately she said the bar and smoking rooms were the only places we can smoke.

W00T!!!1!  I should be getting my (meager) student loan money ETF'd on Monday...
okay, two questions:

1) is anybody from texas driving up?  And would wanna share driving expenses?

2) I'll be alone, so...anybody wanna share a room?  I PROMISE I don't snore too loud.

(I'd say I was afraid to sleep alone because of Chuck, but from what I've read lately I don't have the equipment to worry about it.  Wink )

P.S. I just read the "I'm bored, let's fight" thread, and I INSIST on a replay!!!  Grin
