Just went to my neurologist yesterday.
Its really the first time that I got to see him at the
beginning of a cluster cycle. He gave me a
perscription for verapamil, 180 mg, which is a
calcium blocker. Supposedly this is to nuke the
cycle. If this is ineffective, I have a script for
Depakate 250 mg to start in a week. If the
combination of these is ineffective, I have a script
for Sansert, 2mg. I also have a script for Imitrex
injections and nasal spray, as well as a decent
pain med if all else fails.
What I'd like to know is what people's experience
has been with any of the three cycle-abortive meds
(i.e. effectiveness, side-effects, limitations, etc.)

John Soso, Dept. of Neurology, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The guy is top notch.
