hi bill, i happen to live in n. vers., east of pitts. my clusters started 5 yrs ago. the neuro. first scripted verapamil, wich offered little help. he then added depakote along with verapamil, and even though i got the clusters every year, with a little 02 and maybe an imitrex here and there, things were very tolerable. then the neuro moved to arizona, the new one said these two drugs were " heavy duty" and suggested slowly dropping verapamil. that was about 2 weeks ago, and things have never been worse! i left a message for him today, we'll see what happens. i never had any side effects from either med. i see dr shymansky, pitts. neurology in monroeville. good luck
