Got 'em out? Ok consider your hands slapped by Mom!
For those of you who are new to this site - READ ON. For the old timers this is a refresher on lecture 103 (if you've got it memorized, you can skip it!)
This board was started a little over a year ago by DJ to bring Clusterheads and supporters together. It's intended for support, sharing of information and comfort. If the truth be known, it's probably saved a few of us from the "big sleep". I do know it's brought comfort and understanding to hundreds (maybe thousands) of Chead and supporters alike.
Now, as with any good thing, there are a "few" who go over the line. In the past we've had people come here asking for drugs, calling us "whiney-assed wimps" and telling us we're all psychopaths and drug addicts. These posts usually set off a chain reaction of abusive posts which is fine - it lets us vent and clears the air.
But lately, we've been seeing a lot of "personal" attacks. THIS IS WRONG and it must stop! We're all different and we will NOT agree on everything - that's a fact. But we have a common bond. We're all ill with CH and we're all looking for relief. It's also a fact that our disease and the meds we take produce "less than perfect" personalities. We all suffer from paranoia, depression, anxiety, meanness, self-pity and sometimes just a complete hatred for the human race. But that's not an excuse for hurting someone else.
But on the other hand, a lot of things are being taken as personal that were not intended that way. Several of you have expressed that this site is NOT jokebook.com, but CH.com and you're right - up to a point. But sometimes in our deepest dispair some of us revert to jokes to keep our sanity. A few months ago there was a controversy on the board about posting poetry. Some found it offensive, while others found it comforting. You remember the saying - One man's trash is another man's treasure. We need to keep that in mind.
The good thing about this board is that it's not censored and we're all free to say what we think. We need a good fight every now an then just to let everyone vent, but we sure don't need personal attacks or people leaving the board because of a nose out of joint. This site is just too important to all of us for that.
Ok, end of lecture - now let's all kiss and make up and get back to the business of helping each other.
