Do you ever adjust to the pain?

Hello all -

I am not sure that I am adjusting very well to the fact that my head hurts and the big docs can't make it better. For all the chronics out there - is there ever any relief? Or am I looking at a non-stop headache for the rest of my life?

I spent the last few days in the hospital - my doctor sent me to the ER because of the pain and was admitted because of my blood pressure going haywire. (The good thing was I was sedated and actually was able to sleep for some length of time. Albeit the headache decided not to go anywhere.) Is bloodpressure a long-term thing that I am now also going to have to worry about?

They did say that some of the other symptoms I seem to be having could be from my system reacting to the CH. Some days I think they are making this stuff up as they go along.

FYI - for all those who asked about the Verapimil (sp?) it is 240 mg not 40 mg as I stated earlier. Which the total amount of meds I am on has now greatly increased to six different things a day and two shots of Imitrex (sp?) if needed. How do you guys cope with the side effects of all of this? I used to hate taking aspirin....

Now there is still a good deal of question in my mind if this is what I have. I go back to new doctors this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

One more question for all - how many of you had a major head trauma or surgery or something of that sort before the onset of your first CH? I had a massive concussion about 1 and 1/2 years ago and my doctor thinks it may be related.

Liz
