Hi Friends. I haven't read this board in a long time but I'm glad it's here. I'm in remission at this time. My cluster usually starts around Thanksgiving every year and last for 4 or 5 months. I've been having them for 17 years.

My last cluster, I tried 9 different medications. Imitrix sometimes works and sometimes not. Prednisone did work to some degree but in years past it had not worked. Any way I noticed that with some of the drugs my mental state changed. Some changes were good. My out look was better and I seemed to function better as a human.(Meaning that usually during a cluster I'm not human.)

I've been doing much reading about how the brain works and how chemicals play an important part. I'm not a doctor so overlook my simple way of looking at this. Chemicals can depress you or lift you up. They can change your outlook for good or bad.

We know that CH's are caused by a chimical imbalance, don't we? If so then, wouldn't it make sense to take medications to correct the imbalance. Maybe a Psychiatrist could be of help. I don't know how many CH'ers have some amount of depression but I know several that do, including me.

With that in mind, I'm going to see the srink. Do any of you have thoughts about this idea.??
