Finished off one last cluster, I should be done for this month now. Drummer, your entry on Barney was very heartfelt, and I know my kids have helped me through some periods in hell but ...Barney is a mind trap, and once you go there you may never come back the same man.
My theory on Barney is that he came about from a bad LSD trip, probably around the late 70s. Someone was having a good time and then they saw this big purple blob appearing and disapearing, and heard God talk to them. God said "I Love You and You love me , and were just after all a happy family, now go and spread this message." The person was too fried after that experience to make sence of it all, so he went to a producer and explained his mission. The producer knew it would never make the ratings unless he changed the purple blob to a purple dinosaur and added a lot of children who were happier than any Brady bunch kid could ever have been.
God must have had some help in this all because how else could anything like this had gotten started, especially the hypnotic lyrics that no one can get out of their head once they hear.
After all everyone, I love you and You love me and yeah we are a happy family, because the Barney told us so.
