Interesting discussion gentlemen, (gary and Hal). I agree that a shadow is probably a mild attack. From my perspective, (chronic) the full-blown Kip scale 10’s and the shadows have periodically had an affect on my life for the past 16 years. I find it interesting that as an episodic person that you find the shadows to be at the start of your cycle and then they turn into the full-blown cluster attacks throughout the rest of your cycle. In terms of my chronic situation, I have both the shadows and the full-blown attacks. For example: A day with no shadow and just two or three level 10 attacks lasting an hour each. Or a day with a 4 hour shadow and no full-blown attack. Or a day with a 3 hour shadow and a level 10 attack lasting an hour.

In terms of the pain through the lower jaw and eye and the puffy palate? Oh Yeah! Same here! Some very interesting points though about shadows.
