I would mean that the CH-brain is wired up in such a way that it is willing to inflict severe pain on itself in order to achieve the elusive high it might get from time to time. I don't know what the brain's pain to pleasure ratio is, but given the high incidence of addictive personalities in the CH-population it seems to me that this theory might have some merit.

If anyone will find the holes in this I would bet it is gary.
