Now to the subject, what I said, or meant to say, earlier was that I don't think the brain will create pain just so the chemicals would be released to relieve the pain or produce a feel-good high. I do agree that when there is pain that many chemicals will go to work to relieve the pain. Some chemicals will go to the brain and some to the sight of the injury. As for military experience and the adrenalin addiction, the soldiers would go looking for a fight (combat type) because they knew the adrenalin would be released. They did not go looking for a fight intending to get a leg blown off, thus creating pain, to get the same results.
