Is it common for these to jump sides?

My husband has been having a really hard time the last week and I wanted to get some input on the reason. His clusters have been moving from one side to the other and seem to be driven by different symtoms. The ones that generate in his eye are the "usual" ones, but he's also been getting them on the other side that start in his neck and shoulder. These cause painful knots and muscles spasms that eventually end up in his eye, but on the opposite side of the ones that come right in at the eye.
Has anyone else experienced this? They both leave him feeling (as he puts it) like he just had a gang beating. He's tired and spacey and relly cranky, which is starting to affect our marriage. I'm trying really hard to be sympathetic, but unfortunately sympathy does no good whatsoever to the sufferer. I was wondering if he should go back to a neurologist. His MRI and tests were all normal so I'm not that worried that this isn't just a wierd manifestation of his clusters. Should I be more worried than I am?
Thanks as always :)

Barbara
