If you decide to try lithium carbonate, I offer two things for your consideration:
1> This is, IMHO, a "heavy" drug; that is, one with very strong side effects.
2> You absolutely cannot stop your salt intake while you are taking lithium carbonate. To do so will lead to lithium toxicity.
I am currently using Topamax and Verapamil for prevention; you may want to ask your doctor about them. Lithium works, but it is a hard way to go.
