OK, I just got out of my neuro appointment. Went well. First time seeing this guy, and he knows quite a bit about clusters. I haven't had an attack in 48hrs, so he told me to continue the high dosage of Verapamil. He also prescribed some Imitrex injections for emergenices. I feel pretty good right now. Here's the important stuff: He told me of a method which he had heard is 90 percent effective in stopping an attack, and possibly even an episode. He said there was some stuff..an ointment...I don't know what it's called. He said it was similar to stuff in jalapeno peppers, and was often used to relieve facial nerve pain. I'm sure you guys can get the name. Think it started with a c, but not sure. Anyway, he said that people take this stuff, put it on a q-tip, and stick it as high up as they can in the nostril of the affected side. He said it can't be comfortable, but probably is nothing compared to cluster pain. And 90 percent? We gotta check this stuff out. Has anyone had any experience with it?
