Looks like I may be about to start a new cycle. I'm new to this, only diagnosed in December. Called my neurologist this A.M.-she has phoned in a presription for prednisone and wants me to start this evening...appt. with her tomorrow. Since beginning to read the board (almost daily since November)I am still confused about shadows so don't know when it's "for real". The warning signs posted a few days ago were helpful but I still want to deny that this is starting again. Don't know why I want to second guess an oppurtunity to nip this in the bud but admit I'm paranoid about starting on drugs. What I have been doing is drinking ALOT of water, started feverfew and magnesium. Anyway, two nights ago woke up with about a 3-4, was able to get back to sleep in about an hour, achy head the next day. The next night, took an over the counter 5HTTP given to me by a friend...no headache, slept ok, felt hung over the whole next day. Last night woke up with a 5-6, up with a hot pack an hour or so, back to sleep for a couple hours then awake with a migraine the rest of the night. The other things I can add are that for the past week or so my sleep pattern has been whacko and I have had sporadic spells of spiking pains in my eye, droopy eye, stuffy nose, and a general moodiness....but then, all this has been going on to a lesser degree since November. I know you all hate to hear the word migraine here but I do feel I need to add that I have had several of the worst migraines I've had in years since my cluster cycle ended in November. I'm not comparing the pain...there is no comparison, and these are separate events...just wonder if anyone else has had this experiance. Sorry this is so long and rambling. My questions are, should I start the prednisone, wait, ask for another first time med, ask for something in addition to the prednisone, trust the Dr. and be thankful this is all I have to worry about, or what??? Thanks.
