Drummer's post, based mostly on the writings of Dr. Goadsby is of more of the effect in the "cause and effect" theorm of CH's, a large portion of the cause is due to various triggers as posted 100's of times in this board, how the body reacts to these triggers is still very much unknown and cluster headaches is one of the many conditions created by both the triggers and how the individual body reacts to them, one very common effect is swelling, and I have no idea why in one person, the lungs will swell shut or in another, the nasal passages leading to a CH, but one thing that can be done is to learn the triggers and if all possible avoid them, if you would take the time to study the medications typically prescribed for CH's, most are symptomatic while the pyschotrophic type simply emulate a brain dead condition, not very many alternatives for an individual with CH's, if learning and avoiding triggers just helps one person ease their headaches, I felt that I have helped someone, more than I can say for your silly ass posts that I ignore, suggest you ignore mine.
