Is the Airport near the Monte Carlo Hotel?

Near the Hotel (foot "nearess") are there some cheap restaurants and/or bars, or I have to cross the desert to find one?

And what about the temperature in August? I was been in Las Vegas only in March, and many and many years ago, and I was scared for the high temp!
