I'm new to this site so I suppose I should intoduce myself.
I'm a 41yr. old male and have been a cluster sufferer for
about 20 years. My bouts usually come every other year and
last for 4 to 8 weeks.

I am trying a new doc this time (a pain specialist) who is
trying a procedure called a "palentine ganglion block", which
invloves inserting swabs with Lidocaine up one nostril for
twenty minutes. After one treatment, I had an extra CH for
one nite and then two nites relief. Therefore, I'm not sure
sure of the effectiveness of this treatment.

This website is the first I've heard of Imitrex. I'm presently
using a Stadol inhaler when a headache gets to the point of
not being able to stand it anymore. The Stadol doesn't really
stop the headache - it reduces the pain and gets you so "loaded"
that you don't care as much. I always know that I will be in bed
the next day with a "drug hangover". Can anyone tell me about
the effectiveness/side effects of Imitrex? I am going back to
the doc Monday and thought I would discuss oxygen and Imitrex
with him. I am at the peak of my bout and as all of you know
am at the point of desperation.
