You know, If I could have kept on working, my life would've been so much easier. I wouldn't have lost all of the possessions I worked my ass off for several years to obtain. I wouldn't have sold things for a tenth of what I paid for it just to survive. I wouldn't have wound up homeless - living in someone elses basement. I would still have a big chunk of that thing called dignity left. Unfortunately, things did not work out that way.

You see, some employers will work with thier employees. Some employers are merciful - they are willing to understand certain situations. They will allow you to bail for an hour or two - ride out the attack, recollect yourself, and work over if neccessary to make up for time lost.

Not every employer is like that.
Especially when they reason that they can get a person in good health with no problems to do the same job that this person with a major medical issue is doing.

What is more is when you are a creative person and find other means of support. Like, in my case, playing cover tunes in a rock band, doing gigs in seedy dives just to make a few bucks.
It's a real drag when the band YOU started and worked your ass off to get on track decides that they need to replace YOU because you miss a rehearsal.

So, with that being said, the options become limited. Sell stolen merchandise; sell your body; deal crack or coke; or go on disability.

Which do you advocate?

C.D.

P.S. - I admire and respect someone who is able to hold down a job and has CH; especially if he/she is chronic. That person will tell you though that they have an understanding boss who works around their attacks and understands. Not everyone in the world cares, or understands.

Think of this: Some people get cancer. Some live ten to twelve years after diagnosis and lead productive lives in that period of time.
Some die within a month of diagnosis.
Not everyone is the same.
