I have started yet another bout of CH and have managed to persued my GP to let me have some Imigran tablets again. Usually the imigran kicks in after 20 mins or so but sometimes does not do anything for about one and a half hours. I saw on the imigran info leaflet that (for migrain) if the imigran does not work take a normal analgesic. I tried paracetamol 2x500mg about 40 mins into the attack and within 10 mins the switch was turned off so rapidly that I could not believe it. I have tried this everytime the the bout appears to be clinging on and it appears to work. I am only doing this when I go beyond 35-40 mins and not on the occasions that the imigran kicks in within 20 mins. It may help someone else I am not sure but may be worth a try. I do not suggest that paracetamol is taken at the same time as imigran but a bit later.
