suggest to your anonymous e-mail friend that rather than putting the mushrooms in the freezer to get a commercially available desiccant such as calcium chloride and drying them instead for longer keeping. you do this by placing the dessicant in an airproof container like tupperware, then a screen elevated above it to lay the mushrooms on, then seal the lid. freezers can lose power and spoil a whole supply and they can also taint the flavor with freezer burn.
