As you mentioned a police story, I thought you might like this one: My current CH cycle had got going when I had to do a business trip to a conference in Rome. At about 7.30pm I had to drop out of a gala dinner for all the delegates in favour of pounding the streets around the hotel.
The hotel was located in an area where many Ambassadors to Italy have their private homes. The most noticeable being the residence of the Israeli Ambassador. There were two police checkpoints, barriers and all sorts of electronics, close-circuit cameras and lots of Italian police with machine guns surrounding the house.
I was on my third circuit around the hotel area, with tears in my right eye, nose running and my hand on my head, when the police looked as if they were starting to take an interest in me.
As I don't speak Italian, I did not fancy trying to explain to them and their machine guns that I had nothing against the Israeli Ambassador. I was not some crazed individual with bloodshot swollen eyes. I was just walking around trying to get some relief from hell.
I changed course and went to walk somewhere else. A thought occured to me however that I must be on their cameras looking extremely suspicious. They are probably still scanning their files trying to trace the terrorist suspect with the wild eyes and his hand holding onto his head.
