According to the reports that I have heard, it seems best to take the shrooms during an episode, as soon as you are sure that you are definately experiencing cluster headaches (which shouldn't be hard to tell at all). As long as the initial dose is high enough, this should completely abort the ch's until you enter your next cycle.
