Laurence,
I hope we all all adults here and I do appreciate your ability to handle the subject matter so delicately and with humor. I would like to respond as a female CH sufferer. I have been in cycle now severly for a month. I am ravaged with side effects of predisone such as sleep deprivation and extreme mood swings. My husband has been my full support throughout this incredible ordeal of over medication, cruel medical professionals and horrendous pain that makes me scream and cry. I seek comfort in small forms now and appreciate any to it's fullest degree.
To answer your question: I have had two bad experiences with relations causing a CH attack and immediately reached to the o2 next to my bed.Husband on the left, o2 on the right. Luckily it aborted the attack in a few minutes but it also aborted the mood in a terrible way and caused me to cry because this thing is ruining the pleasures of love in my life. My husband is so understanding as I'm sure is your wife and let her know she is not alone - we are not alone. The last time we attempted love making I used o2 first and Immitrex injection one hour prior and turned on A/C to blasting cold and only experienced some twinges of pain so I felt successful at that.
My Dr. may want to try Lithium next for me after the predisone ravages have passed in a few weeks but I am also worried of the down side of that drug on my libido and energy level. Some say it is a matter of being accostomed to it but I still dread that.
By the way did predisone make you really moody and crazy emotionally? What was your dosage? Could you sleep?
Take care
Good Luck

Beth
