My Doctor pondered whether CH's might be a herpetic viral infection. I considered this and thought this might explain some of the symptoms: 1. inflammed nerve endings; 2. attacks always occur in the same specific location (this might also explain why it only occurs on one side of the head); and 3. the episodic nature of attacks.
If this is the case one could possibly use the new medicines used in mitigating a herpes outbreak for shortening the cluster cycle. For anyone who cannot find an effective prophylactic this might be worth a try.
Any thoughts? Perhaps some of you would like to discuss this possiblity with your doctors.
