Sounds like they took you off of verapamil because of your low heart rate, then put you on lithim as the next best alternative drug, this will take some time to have any effect. In my case 1-2 months. Lithium is a different class of drug as doesn't have the hart rate / blood pressure complications that verapamil has, I take both, and still get the damned things.
