I was very fortunate in being able to slip into an opening at the neurologist's office. What I came out with was:

lithium: 300 mgs. three/day
orphenadrine (Norflex) 100 mgs. up to two/day
Stadol 1 spray up to four times/day

Does anyone have experience with any of these three drugs? The Norflex is similar to what they gave me in the ER yesterday that finally knocked out the CH after the Demerol/Phenergan was making it worse. The Stadol, as you know is a narcotic spray and the lithium, he said, was one of the best treatments for CH.

If this combo doesn't work, we go on to the triptans, either imitrex or Amerge, but he first wants cardiac risks for me delineated either by my family doc or the cardiologist who did my EKG stress test last year. I am to stay on my Verapamil for now but he may want to try Catapres instead for the future.

Again, I am crossing my fingers that all this works. He said I look really look sleep deprived and he hit THAT nail right on the head!
