If it's not a Right-To-Work State it will be tougher to fight them, since they don't need an excuse to fire someone. But, discrimination is not legal grounds, so I'd be very careful and write down everything that was said while it is still fresh in memory. And, I'd talk to a lawyer, not telling the school.
So, first off, what State does she live in?
And why would anyone want to fight a Clusterhead?
She can most likely win with some support, need a bit more info though.
