It's hard for me to imagine but there just ain't no party loyalist like Hillary. I'm tired of it already.......

No matter your party, this is historic.

Yeah. I can see her doing it but egad! That seems to me incredibly hard. There is the remote possibility that she could run again but I have my doubts.......still she is a Clinton. I like the theory about her running for New York State Govenor but she may just be interested in National stuff.

Never mind the Democrat ticket (I'm Irish, so I can't vote), let's celebrate the popularity of Linux on these pages.

I've never seen so many Linuxers in one place (cept in Linux forums), so my nomination is Hil-Linux Rodham GnOmebama.

Yep, folks, even I'm surprised at the sort of things I can write when I'm PF.

Where is good ol Matt when you need him, Huh Charlie?

You must be going through withdrawals.

For those who don't know who Matt was...  Nobody, but nobody debated like Matt and Charlie and still remained friends and kept it civil.  In fact they both got an award for it at a convention.   lol

Jonny hit the nail on the head.  It's not hard to imagine Hillary stepping into the presidency through some accidental death/assassination.  Happens a lot around the Clintons.  A lot.

Personally, my choice is none of the above, especially Obama. Gives me the creeps. Black, white Arab or whatever. Politician all the way, not much different than Hillary, but Hillary will salute our Flag.

All I really wish to say is we all need someone, or some Congress to help all of us survive whatever the furture holds. Yes history will be made, but it must not be made lightly, for our very lives can depend on it.

Scares me, Don

I love it that the conspiracy stuff still pops up whenever Hillary does something. The internet is better than wacko bumper stickers.

I have white supremacist acquaintance that I am forced to deal with now and then. How I would love to see his reaction to Obama. This is a guy that hasn't seen any of Steven Spielberg'a movies because he is a "liberal Jew." He's such a joy to know and it's something one wouldn't expect from a book collector. Yikes.

I miss Matt too.... had a few "conversations" with him and Pop over lunch (Matt on one side - Pop and I on the other) - interesting to say the least.. Smiley

Tomorrow I'm off to the Texas Demo convention in Austin. Should be interesting now that Obama went over the 211 mark last night. He left a message on Hillary's machine for her to call him back... can hardly wait to hear what that was all about.

But you guys can't really be supporting McCain?

One thing Obama said in his "victory" speech last night that made sense was, "McCain challenges me to go to Iraq - I challenge him to go to Souix City, Nashville, New Orleans, and Detroit and see what people THERE are suffereing!" (or something like that). THAT made sense to me.

I'm not an Obama supporter, but .... guess we've got him and I'm just pulling now for Hillary to be on the ticket (let the bashing begin, but I'm for the lady regarldless of what anyone thinks). I've had enough of BUSH politics to last me a lifetime.... We need to get our country back.

But until people get involved we're gonna STILL have the same problems. When we send someone to Washington it's up to US to see that they do the job we HIRE them to do. If we don't it's OUR fault.

Hugs BD

I don't particularly like McCain, but it will be a cold day in hell before I vote for Obama.

I think I'll change my name to *none of the above* and run for president.  Think I could win?

[size=14]The hate the Clinton bloggers never fail to amuse.

As to the "none of the above" comments; my neighbor whose political life centers around killing Roe v. Wade, is encouraging New Yorkers to vote none of the above, Barr, or Nader because New York is a Democratic state and that it's safe to vote that way. Naturally, all it takes is convincing enough of us to do that and open the door to McCain and what he hopes will tip the court away from "legislating from the bench," hoping that we don't see that legislating from the bench is exactly what he wants. Abortion fights have wrecked politics.

What's so great about history making change if that change shoves us farther down the road towards socialism and eventually communism?  We've been tiptoeing that way for years, but this election has the potential to catapult us farther down the path of ruin for the country.

Nikita Khrushchev's threat is slowly coming true.  In 1962, he stated

"We will take America without firing a shot.......We will BURY YOU!

"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism. We do not have to invade the United States, we will destroy you from within".
-Nikita  Khrushchev, Chairman of the Communist Party (of the USSR)

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
-Norman Thomas, six-time Socialist Party presidential candidate and one of the founders of the ACLU.

"Democracy is indispensable to socialism."
-Vladimir Lenin

"The goal of socialism is communism."
-Vladimir Lenin

It is time to give up party loyalty.  The parties are not what they used to be.  Republicans are more like the old Democrats these days.  Democrats have become Socialists.  Forget the name of the political party you and your father and your father's father always voted for and really study the issues and the candidates. Take stock of your values and compare them to those of the candidates.

Sadly, this election, like most of the recent past, will be one of selecting the lesser of two evils.  I hope everyone puts all the media hype aside and REALLY takes a close look at the candidates, where they have been and how they got there, what decisions they have made, what they have stood for in the past and where they say they are going in the future.

I remember those words Mike.  Sadly, Americia is being eaten alive fron the inside out.  Socialism is a cancer that once it gains a foothold is very hard to get rid of.  Many of the democrats in congress we have today are true socialists.  In the 30's and 40's communisim's toe got in our doorway, in the 50's and 60's the toe became a foot.  It started with the schools then the newspapers then TV.  Go look what is tought in the universities and what is considered acceptable speach and thought there!  They are nothing more than indoctrination centers!  Sadly, the grade schools and Jr & Sr high schools are becoming more and more brainwashing centers.  Kids get out of there and can not read and write but they know what is politically correct!
