St. Louis in January
Oct 2nd, 2008 at 6:09pm

There was much discussion of moving DavCon this January to either St. Louis or Indiannapolis.   Since Indy has taken the same no smoking policy that Davenport has...maybe y'all will consider St. Louis.

I already checked out the BESTWESTERN AIRPORT PLAZA INN & CONFERENCE CENTER.

The hotel is located in Bridgeton, Missouri, about a mile or so from Lambert/St.Louis International AIrport.   They have free transportation from the airport...and also to areas within a 5 miles radius of the hotel.

Considering January 15th thru January 18th.

Here's the rates (from the website):

Regular rate:      $84.99 per nt
Internet rate:     $72.24 (for Thurs)   $63.74 (for Fri & Sat)
Over 55 rate:     $76.49 ("      "    )   $67.49 (  "   "    "     )
14 Day Adv.Pay: $67.99 ("    "     )    $59.99 ( "   "    "     )

They have a bar and full service restaurant where we can smoke.

Y'all check it out if you'd like to on the internet.  I tried to call JDH to get his opinion on this hotel...but haven't heard back from him yet

Anyway...we'll see how this works out.

I live in St. Louis City.  Bridgeton is about a 30 minute drive from here so it would work out great for me!   You can count me in!

Spose I'll start my trusty list of who's thinking of going.....

JACKIE & BLAKE...........................................................INDIANA
TXBASSLADY................................................................TEXAS
RACER1_NC...................................................NORTH CAROLINA
JIMI & RUTHIE.............................................................KENTUCKY
D.J. & STEPHANIE........................................................KANSAS
CLUSTERCHUCK............................................NORTH CAROLINA
JEN & PHIL.................................................................MICHIGAN
MIDWESTBETH.........................................................ILLINOIS
JDH & SUE...............................................................MISSOURI
LADYLUV................................................................ILLINOIS
JEAN....................................................................MISSOURI

Some on the list I haven't spoken too about going....I just added them cause they were in Davenport.

Some of the Davenport crowd may prefer to not attend in St. Louis...and that's ok.   Just let me know if you plan to go, and I'll add you.

There's plenty of time...so if there's a better hotel in St. Louis to go...just let me know.   We do need a place w/airport transportation though.   Also has to be a place where us CH'ers can smoke.      Kiss

Jean

You have to go to the NYC/Northern New Jersey area to get TRUE Reuben sammiches!

Not really ... Just take that marvelous woman that you have been shacking up with all these years, and take in a trip to the Big Apple!  While there, hit a TRUE New York deli!

(Oh, and you might bring Pat along, too!) Smiley Smiley Smiley

(Oh, boy!  Is she gonna kick my ass now!)

It's very common to have a "January Thaw"  here in St. Louis.  You could get lucky!

Tex-ass-bad Lady..

Just let me know when I can book my room... I need my "Cluster Head Family Fix".. Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

Bridgeton, MO from Champaign  -  189 miles
Davenport, IA from Champaign  -   190 miles

If I can handle the temps in Iowa, I can most certainly handle MO temps.

Yep, count me in..

Much Love,
