What's your good news?
Jul 7th, 2012 at 3:27pm

Following on the awesome lead of Linda, I think we need this type of thread.

Basically, everyone posts up whatever good news or happy news they have so that everyone else can see that despite the "gloom and doom" of CH's, there are still some awesome things happening to all of us.

I'll start:
My computer crashed the other day, and was beyond any hope of repair.  So now I have a brand new harddrive in it (much much bigger one too!), and have a whole new bug-free system!  I'm really happy 'cause now my computer runs better than ever!

Two of my artworks sold in the last 24 hours.  THAT makes me happy!  Brew hasn't been hit for weeks - that makes me ecstatic!

(And Guiseppi, you're a lucky, lucky man!)

Guiseppi, I hope Auban and I can reach that kind of milestone.

Mosaic, your artwork is gorgeous.  Glad to see you had some pieces sell!

Presently it's difficult and hateable in my shoes changing from one dislikeable job to another recently, but finally two much better offers are on the table at present, and I'll be moving.  One business is being built and furbished, so I'm waiting it out, but I'll be operationally in charge finally.  The other is something completely different to decide on in the meantime.  The future looks bright.  I REALLY needed change.

I like the Mosiacmaid's work, too.

Jezep is our Andy of Mayberry here, he knows his fairplay and strums a good tune.  I'll re-elect him, he lets me keep one bullet in my shirtpocket if I don't lock myself in a cell again.    Wink

I'm a man with:
  • a wife whom I adore and who loves me back,
  • a job that doesn't suck too much or too often,
  • a son who's in college and making a life for himself,
  • a group of friends who always have my back,
  • a head that's behaving.
  • And I'm still sitting up and chewing my own food.

It don't get much better.

On August 6 I will have been blessed with 35 yrs with Linda.  I couldn't have asked for a more supportive, loving wife.

My head, while not PF, has been down to one or two breakthroughs a day since I've been using Batch's Vit D program.  I am using a much higher dosage than most, but then I've never been normal.  (Why be normal?  Normal is only average and I don't want to demean myself!)  All in all I'd say life is good.

Ellen's finished with summer session at ISU, and she's home, visiting, for a week.  She just found out that the contract for her (awesome) paid internship at the museum has been extended for another year.

Good to see my kid so utterly happy.  Smiley  She'll be a Junior when she starts the fall semester.

Best,

George

P.S.--Great idea for a thread.

Because of her awesomely great detailed artwork, at first I thought of art museum, but then remembered she altered course into geology or some fossil-searching science, whatever it's called.  Smiley

In that case, the back drawers of their museum would have great detail for her to be meticulous with for a great whole picture of the region's far past.  Fantastic she's enthusiastically interested, George, and happy with the surprising turn of her talented focus when so accomplished otherwise.  Good to hear!

I'm not Brew, I'm his wife, so I'm qualified to answer.  Yes, History and Political Science for our son.  We're VERY proud.

And we're celebrating 30 years of wedded bliss in October.  Damn, when did that time fly by?

Yep. Just like his old man.

He's actually declared a double major (also just like his old man): history and political science. Except mine were history and philosophy.

All equally as "useless" in this results-driven society. Which is one of the reasons I admire the young lad so much. Wink

I was going to direct my question to Brewcrew in general, Pat, knowing three replyers possible, but remembered that was Brew's old login also.  Smiley

Definitely agree with results-driven society, which has a lacking, but to good leadership, not useless.  I admire it immensely too and love to see it.  Believe me, I respect it.

We will celebrate 32 years this month (34 all told in September).  I got my anniversary present a bit early.  A new treadmill!

My *get back in shape*plan is working, losing pounds slowly and inches even slower.

Daughter is back in school, pursuing a degree in French (to add to all her other degrees).

Great thread! Love it. Smiley

I have a lot to be happy about, too:
- I'm married to a wonderful man
- I have two silly & adorable guinea pigs
- we're moving to our new home quite soon
- my week and a half in hospital showed me just how much my friends and family care and many of them visited me more than once
- ch has stayed away, the last cycle was over a year ago

And I saved my fave one for last:
- Against all odds I'm still pregnant. Today marks exactly one month from the day I was taken to the hospital ward and the doctor and midwives were so sure that our baby will arrive within days. Well, so far, so good. I'm now 35 weeks pregnant, and my official maternity leave begun on Saturday (back in here maternity leaves begins at 35 weeks) and now the baby can arrive anytime; in my area the doctors and midwives will not try to prevent the birth anymore (in other parts of Finland they will try to prevent it up to 36 weeks).

Naturally we're hoping that our baby will wait until week 37 or later, but things are pretty good right now. All the prayers from my ch family must have worked, so thank you all once again! Smiley

Wishing PF days to all,
Sanna & LittleRascal

33 days completely pain free.  No minor headaches, no random rock shows, nothing.  That hasn't happened in over three years.

And I have an awesome wife.  I'm not just bragging, I'm pretty sure its been established as a law of marriage...

I have an awesome daughter.

I have an awesome dog.

I'm going to California soon, where my headache specialist will be the most qualified person on earth to ensure I continue to have an awesome life Smiley

Excellent thread idea! Wink  It's fabulous to read the good instead of always reading or writing about the bad.

My good news is...leaving tomorrow for 10 days to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons with my son.  This will be our 6th annual father-son birthday camping trip.  We are born 1 day apart and every year for the past 6 yrs we travel somewhere for a week or so to enjoy the wilderness and a tent.  My little man will be 12 and I will be 44.  Will share some photos and good news of our adventures upon our return.

  Let me see:

Not one of my 7 children are in jail.
I looked in the obituaries, and my name wasn't there.
I beat Brew in "words" once or twice.
I didn't hit the deer that ran out in front of my car     at  55 mph the other day and I didn't have a heart attack afterwards.

    O.K., O.k.....

I have a husband and 7 kids who love me.
I have the most wonderful friends in the world.
I've been PF for some time now.
After months of drought..it's been raining.
